natural light newborn photography Wimbledon – When should I book my newborn photo shoot?
With all of the preparation work it takes when welcoming your newborn baby into your home, thinking about a Newborn photo shoot might be at the bottom of your list. However, this isn’t something you should put to one side, because these newborn portraits can increase in value over time and create lifelong memories, and you don’t wanna miss it. So, when is the best time to book your natural light Newborn photography session, Wimbledon?

The Newborn stage newborn photography is about capturing your baby, and it’s very, very early days. This is when your baby is new and curly and very, very sleepy. This allows your newborn Photographer to capture the special moments and newness of your little one. Ideally, the Newborn photography stage is before 21 days. This allows your Photographer to pose your baby, move your baby into different positions, and capture all those lovely details without your baby waking up.
What to think about when booking your Newborn session
1. Booking the earliest key
If you have a Photographer in mind. Securing your session is the key to not being disappointed. This ensures that you will not be turned away by your photographer in that window. Once you’ve booked, I send out guides to help you style your session and also prepare for your photo shoot itself. Having these guides allows you to be fully prepared before your newborn baby arrives. You can prepare and not rush around trying to find an outfit, or not know what will happen at your shoot. You can arrive stress-free and prepared.

2. Being flexible is part of the job
Lots of parents worry about booking their photo shoot and the baby arriving early or late. As a professional newborn Photographer with experience working with families for over seven years, I understand that babies don’t always come on time. We will pencil in a date two weeks after your due date, and if we need to move the session, I do have flexibility within my schedule to allow for such movements. Usually, it’s not something that is required, but if your baby is two weeks early or two weeks late, it’s always handy for parents to know that it’s absolutely fine to move the shoe if needed.

3. What happens if you miss the 21-day window?
I don’t turn away parents because they’ve missed the 21-day window. I do carry out newborn photo shoots up to a month old, but if the baby is over a month, I do say to parents that the shots that I take may be more natural or with the baby more awake. Your baby is beautiful at every stage, so it’s always worth documenting them with a professional photo session. They’re only going to get bigger! Capturing the details of your little one is the most important thing, and of course, your family too.
So to sum up, booking your Newborn photo shoot before the baby arrives is ideally the best way to go about securing your session. It allows you to be stress-free and concentrate on the arrival of the little one and welcoming him or her into your home.
