Milestone
A baby’s first year goes by so quickly and is filled with lots of milestone unaided and may be close to crawling but are not yet able to walk. A milestone session is a celebration of when your baby can sit upright but not yet walk.
I capture your babies’ genuine expressions when they smile, giggle and their proud little face when they realise, they have learnt to sit up by themselves or discovered a new toy to play with.
Milestone sessions last for up to 60 minutes and take place in the studio. Using a white backdrop, I start by taking portrait images showing your little one sitting up by themselves, followed by them playing with some of the studio props and just capture their emerging little personalities.
Every baby develops at their own pace and a sitter session generally takes place when baby is around 3-10 months. To ensure session availability in the studio, I recommend booking once you know you would like a session.
Cake-Smash
Cake Smash sessions are a fun way to celebrate and mark the milestone of your little one’s first birthday. This session should take place approx. 2-4 weeks before your baby’s first/second birthday to ensure you receive your photos before the date required.
Cake smash sessions last for up to 90 minutes and take place in The Studio. During the session, I start by taking portrait images with the use of ONE letters, followed by the cake smash where I capture the excitement on your little ones face when seeing, exploring and smashing the cake. The session is then finished with a fun splash bath, which allows for more beautiful images as well as to also get your little one clean!
In my experience, not all children want to eat the cake and therefore we make the session as fun and sensory as possible with the addition of a wooden toys and bubbles.
A semi-naked cake with buttercream frosting is included complimentary in the cake-smash session. If there any allergies then a cake will need to be provided by the family.
I have a client wardrobe with neutral outfits for both girls and boys aged 6 months to 18 months – which is suitable for milestone and cake-smash photoshoots. As my backdrop is white. Neutral colours work best and compliment the style of photography I do. I also have many props and toys to keep your baby entertained during the photoshoot.
