How do we prepare for a photshoot?

If baby is breastfed I advise Mums to avoid spicy/acidic/gassy food for 24 hours before the session. Please dress baby in something easy to remove and keep their nappy as loose as possible to avoid marks on their skin. Please keep to baby’s routine as changing this will make the baby unsettled. If your baby is due a feed at the time of the shoot, give half a feed at home and then the other half at the studio. This will give us sleepy baby – the best kind for a newborn shoot! I will also send you over a what to expect guide before your photoshoot.

Have you had any training with newborns?

Yes, it is essential that a photographer who is working with babies, who are tiny and delicate knows about the anatomy and safety factors associated with newborn photography. I have, as well as carrying out training in newborn photography have educated myself on all safety aspect of working with newborns.

Can my other children be included in the photoshoot?

Yes, absolutely! Part of all of all of my packages include family and sibling photos also. This is not only a special time for you, but your whole family too.

Would you come to my home?

As I have all of my specialised equipment (lights, posing table, bowls and props) I prefer to carry out all of my photoshoots in my comfy home-studio. This way I can produce the best images (the ones you love and see on my website and socials) times and time again.

What should we wear?

I find it works best to keep things neutral; black, grey, navy and white and cream are all great choices and try to coordinate your outfits without being too matchy! Choose outfits that you feel happy in but that won’t date your photos so avoid patterns and logos to keep the images timeless.
