Newborn Photographer in New Malden

I suggest reserving your session shortly after your 20-week ultrasound scan. Schedule it for around 10 days after your expected due date, with the flexibility to adjust if your baby arrives earlier or later than anticipated with Photography by Shal – Newborn Photography in New Malden.

I have a passion for newborn photography when babies are at various stages, and I’m open to accommodate your preferences for scheduling your session. To achieve that classic newborn appearance, I suggest booking your session between 5 to 14 days after your due date. However, if you prefer a bit more time to settle in, that’s perfectly fine as well.

The newborn photography/photoshoot will take approximately 90 minutes, allowing ample time for capturing all the necessary shots and for your little ones to become comfortable in front of the camera. For Newborn sessions, I prefer to allocate a bit more time to accommodate breaks for feeding, cuddling, and diaper changes, as these in-between moments often result in beautiful images.

I welcome and encourage the participation of both parents and siblings in the photoshoot. If you’d like to include additional family members, such as grandparents or pets they are also welcome to join!

It’s perfectly natural to feel camera-shy, and even as a photographer, I can empathise with that sentiment. However, rest assured that before your session starts, I’ll take the time to connect with you and your little ones. For your children, it will be more like a fun playdate, filled with genuine, unscripted moments. My photography style doesn’t rely on props, forced poses, or artificial smiles. My primary advice for your session is to simply relax and enjoy the experience and let me guide you to do the rest! 

The most important factor is ensuring that you and your family feel comfortable. Once you’ve confirmed your session, you’ll receive a What to Expect guide, filled with advice on clothing choices, color palettes, styling tips, and creative inspiration. I’ll be accessible before the session if you’d like to share photos of your outfit selections. I also have a selection of outfits in my client wardrobe that you’re welcome to utilise for mums-to-be, new mums, newborns, and toddlers unto 2 years ols. All of these outfits match with the neutral tone of my photography and will make you (and your baby) feel comfortable and fabulous.

Please anticipate a delivery time of up to 21 days from the date of your shoot.

You pay a non-refundable £100 deposit at booking. This secures your date and pays for the session itself. You then carry out your photoshoot and after approximately 2 weeks you will receive a gallery of 30+ images. You then decide whether to go for the silver, gold or platinum package and make your payment accordingly. If you choose to purchase additional prints or frames you would pay for this directly from your gallery. 

My Cosy studio is based in my home in New Malden, Surrey. Here I carry out the majority of my photoshoots; however, I can also travel to homes to do in-home sessions which is a relaxed and casual shoot in the comfort of your home. In spring, summer, and autumn I do outdoor family photoshoots also. The areas I cover are New Malden, Kingston Upon Thames, Wimbledon, Richmond Upon Thames, Surrey, and South West London.

Newborn Photography Prints and products can take upto to 4 weeks from the date of purchase for delivery as they will be ordered from a professional printing firm. If there are any delays, I will be in touch.
