What to pack in your hospital bag!

Whether you are a first-time parent-to-be or a parenting expert, pregnancy often throws up a million and one questions, which can be confusing and exciting! But one of them shouldn’t be what you need to put in your hospital bag.
Here is a quick list that you can use to pack all the essentials that you need in your hospital when having your baby.
- Nappies – a good supply as hospitals will only give one or two.
- Toiletries bag – this can include shower gel body/face cream toothbrush and toothpaste, lip balm, wash bag and contact lens solutions (can buy travel size to save space)
- Mobile phone charger, charger and headphones in case you want to listen to music. (If you have a portable charging bank, that would be handy too.) It is a good idea to carry this with you from your 38-week check (in case they ask you to stay).
- At least two of changes of clothing – comfy jogging suits or loungewear that can both suffice as bed time clothing or something to leave the hospital in.
- Baby grows and vest for newborns
- Shawl/ blanket for your baby
- Cotton wool or fragrance free baby wipes
- Nightgown (with front opening if breastfeeding). Its also useful if dad wants to do skin-to-skin to have an open shirt or night shirt packed also.
- Flip flops and socks (to walk around in, if you are there longer than a day)
- Medical notes
- Disposable knickers
- Beast pads and a maternity bra.
- Snacks like dried fruit and gum, which will help you get your digestive system working again after birth.
- I hope this helps, and feel free to print this list 🙂
