What Is a First Birthday Cake Smash?
A cake smash photoshoot is a carefree, playful professional photo session designed to celebrate your baby turning one. The session usually begins with some beautiful portraits of your baby in a carefully styled outfit, followed by family photos (parents and siblings) so everyone can be part of the memory.
Then comes the fun part—the cake smash itself! There is an outfit change here for your baby, and he or she gets to explore, squish, smash, and (hopefully!) taste their very cake, while I capture all the giggles, curious expressions, and messy little moments. Every baby reacts differently—some dive straight in, while others take their time—and that’s what makes each session so unique (and honestly, so much fun!).
The session then ends with a fun-filled splash time bubble bath where baby can clean off the mess, while your cake-smash baby photographer can capture some very sweet shots of your baby playing in the water.
